Come join us at the Maine Forestry Museum for it's 33rd Annual Little Mr & Miss Woodchip competition. The Museum invites every girl and boy aged 6 to 8 to sign up for the contest. Contestants may sing a song or recite a poem: they may choose a favorite or write their own. Every Woodchip contestant receives a prize. Winners will ride on the Woodchip float the following day in the Logging Parade. The evening also includes cloggers, music and light refreshments. Come and join the fun. ***2017 Maine Forestry Museum Schedule of Events***

Tuesday, June 20th – The Museum will be holding its Opening Celebration from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Please drop by if you can and enjoy light refreshments. This kick-off of the 2017 season will celebrate the purchase of our 1872 Lane Saw Mill and the start of construction of an authentic Logging Camp with Blacksmith Shop attachment.

Wednesday, June 21st – The Museum opens its doors from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Wed. – Sun.) for the 2017 season.

Saturday, July 1st – Join us for our Live Auction. Preview 9:30 a.m. Auction starts at 10:00 a.m. Handmade rustic furniture; local lodging, activity, restaurant, and service gift certificates; baked goods; fiber and wood crafts; rentals and more…..

Friday, July 28th – Join us at the Museum for the 37th Annual Logging Festival enjoy Museum displays, vendors, burying of the beans for the Bean Hole Dinner to be served on Saturday of the Festival and more….. The Festival runs from 10-4 pm on Friday.  Friday night starting at 7 pm will be our 33rd Annual Little Mr & Miss Woodchip competition with Cloggers, Live Music, refreshments and more…..

Saturday, July 29th – The Museum will be holding the 37th Annual Logging Festival & Parade, the Parade starts at 10 am on Main St. in Rangeley, with the Logging Festival at the museum after the parade. The Festival runs from 11-4 pm on Saturday. The Logging Festival will include the Lumberjack and Lumberjill competitions run by Matt Galambos and sponsored by Stihl, our Famous Bean Hole Dinner, Museum displays, vendors, children’s activities, and more…….

 

Saturday, September 30th – 25th Annual Apple Harvest Festival, located at The Church  of the Good Shepherd, 2614 Main Street, Rangeley. The Festival runs from 9-3. “Lumberjack Breakfast” starts at 9 am and runs until we sell-out. Children’s Pumpkin Activity Center, baked goods table, balloon animals, face painting, apple pressing (bring your own container), chainsaw carvers, indoor/outdoor logging displays, vendors and more! This coincides with the Rangeley Oktoberfest so there will be a lot going on in town!
